Presentation Details:
- Strength Training: we will discuss the important aspects of strength training for cross-country skiing, providing specific exercises and workouts.
- Technique: these sessions will go over the fundamentals of each skiing style and provide specific drills and tips to improve efficiency. We will work on these concepts on snow with video.
- Developing a Training Plan: we will cover how to set specific training goals and break down a year into periods that focus on specific aspects of training to achieve those goals. Coaches will assist each athlete to write down his/her goals and outline a training plan to achieve them.
- Ski Selection: We will cover the important features of skate and classic skis and discuss how these features affect performance in different snow conditions. Using flex testing equipment, we’ll show exactly how a ski flexes under different loads and what it means. From there, we will discuss the practical application of this knowledge by addressing how to test and choose the right skis for the conditions.
