Last weekend the cold weather did not materialize until Sunday. This week, however, temperatures and snow have been very cold throughout the week at Devil's Thumb and the frigid weather will continue through the Pursuit Race on Saturday. While air temps will not be brutal like last year (-30F), the snow should remain cold and dry through the race, warranting lots of layers of cold wax.
Swix and Toko both have similar wax recommendations:

Prepare skis by hardening up the bases with some sort of base prep (such as Moly) and then it would be a good idea to do 2 layers of the cold wax. In addition to the combinations given from Swix/Toko, another good glide wax combo to try is Start Green with Toko Cold Powder.
If you are the cautious type, a second pair of skis waxed warmer would be a good way to hedge your bets. Swix LF6 was running very well last weekend and we have often seen the dry lubrication of HFBD6 giving very fast skis in these conditions. FC1 as a final glide wax layer may also add quite a bit of speed.
Good Luck!
