Hayward Lions Pre Birkie – Saturday, 2/12/11. Hayward, WI. 26km and 42km freestyle. 10am race start on Lake Hayward. Finish at OO.
Trail Conditions - About 2–3 inches of new snow have fallen since Monday. The trail is in excellent condition. Expect hard packed beautiful corduroy.
Weather (from NOAA) – Friday high near 25, with a low Friday night of 18. Saturday will be mostly cloudy and a 20% chance of snow, with a high near 33.
Jesse did some feel testing today on course. He reported really nice firm tracks. Even though the arm warmed up a lot the snow was still quite cold, We are expecting simliar conditions tomorrow excep tthe snow shouldn't cool down quite as much over night.
Holmenkol Matrix Red and Hoilmenkol Matrix Bklue felt very simliar with SkiGo HF Violet just behind and then Holmenkol Matrix Black/Red was considerably slower. Given the forecast we feel good about our Matrix Red recommendation, the Blue would also be a good choice.
