Forecast Based Recommendation
Recommendation
We recommend the following:
Base Layer: Ski*Go LF Graphite
Race Paraffin: Holmenkol Matrix Red
Fluoro Powder: Holmenkol Mid08 Powder
Top Coat: Holmenkol Mid08 block if greater new snow mix or Ski*Go C44 fluid if mostly artificial snow.
Structure: simple cold weather dry snow type grind with linear hand structure.
Kick Wax: Iron in a base wax like green or a specific binder wax. Ski*Go Blue HF should work good for kick – add layers based on the flex of your ski. If things warm up too fast, consider a warmer wax (such as Ski*Go Red) covered by a layer of HF Blue. If things get really crazy – get out the klister.
Testing Discussion – The mix of artificial and new snow will, along with how quickly things warm up (clear skies will cause it to warm up quick) determine what will work best. Probably best to bring some Klister skis just in case. If the snow starts to fall apart, waxless skis might even be the best bet – I’ve used them before at SoHo.

note: BNS imports Holmenkol and SkiGo waxes, and also sells waxes from Swix, Toko, Rode, Solda, Rex, Guru, Innovax, Magnar and others. We search for the fastest waxes for our customers and our testing is professional, objective and transparent. We make our best effort to test what we think is the best from each brand. However, given that we are testing more options from Holmenkol and SkiGo, there is a bias toward those brands. With this full disclosure, you can assess the legitimacy of our testing yourself. Visit Swix and Toko for their official recommendations. If you have any questions please contact us.
