Snow, ski, and test discussion: The tests that are done are feel tests with a matched sets of 4 test pairs.  Feel tests are conducted on test fleet skis for fluro top coats.  Wax torpedos are used for distance testing base race paraffin’s.  The snow at this venue is 100% man made.  It has been above freezing for 4-6 days and has been rained on.  With the forecasted drop in temperatures it will basically be transitioned man made snow/ice.  The snow deck will be very hard with a soft tilled surface.  A medium to stiff flex ski will run the best on this snow deck.  With the moderate cold forecasted temps, structure should not be too large a factor and a wider range of structures will run well.  Any medium cold to unistructure should run well.  Also, liquid optimizers should run well with the forecast and snow type.

Friday Morning Test:  Snow temp of -6C or 22F.  Calm.  Snow is a mix of ice and fine cold powder.  Primarily small ice crystals.  The top snow surface is soft and easy to edge.

CONCLUSIONARY NOTES – BNS will have a table set up and will be testing top coats and kick wax at the race venue. Come by to get our latest test results and recommendations.

note: BNS imports Holmenkol and SkiGo waxes, and also sells waxes from Swix, Toko, Rode, Solda, Rex, Guru, Innovax, Magnar and others. We search for the fastest waxes for our customers and our testing is professional, objective and transparent. We make our best effort to test what we think is the best from each brand.  However, given that we are testing more options from Holmenkol and SkiGo, there is a bias toward those brands.  With this full disclosure, you can assess the legitimacy of our testing yourself. Visit Swix and Toko for their official recommendations. If you have any questions please contact us.
