Event Description – Wasatch Citizen Series #3 – Soldier Hollow, UT – 1/21/12 – 12k Skate. Three 4k laps. Kids start at 10AM, adults 10:20.

Tonight: Rain and snow likely, mainly after 11pm. Snow level 5800 feet. Cloudy, with a low around 28. South wind between 9 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Saturday: Rain and snow, becoming all snow after 11am. High near 46. Southeast wind 13 to 20 mph becoming west. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Forecast Based Recommendation. SoHo should be just on the snow level – could be rain or it could be snow. If it is raining – go with Ski*Go yellow and C22 fluoro powder and maximum structure. If new snow either go with the Holmenkol Matrix Red or possibly the Ski*Go Violet (especially if the new snow is mixed in with the old snow). The snow will most likely be very wet, with significant glazing after the first lap – this usually requires a lot of structure to eliminate the moisture. My recommendation is based on new snow, not mixed in with the old. This could be blizzard conditions – so be prepared.
