RecommendationForecast Based Recommendation

We recommend the following:

Base Layer: SkiGo LF Graphite

Race Paraffin: Holmenkol HF Matrix Red

Fluoro Powder: Holmenkol Mid08

Top Coat: Test morning of race.  Holmenkol Wet, or SkiGo C22 would be in the mix if snow temps stay warm.  Mid08 would be the choice if snow temps cool down over night.

Structure: S3.2, (FS2) or 2.2 (S2-1x) would be excellent choices for grinds.  Hand structure will be very important with large amount of moisture in snow.  Finite V03 would be good choice based on snow temps today.

Testing Discussion – Snow temp was 27 degrees F at 9:00 AM this morning.  New snow depth between 1 and 3 feet on various points of the course.  Snow is wet and very soft.  Skis with a soft flex will be needed to deal with the very soft and deep snow conditions.  Temperatures are expected to cool off over night and new snow may be colder than current conditions.  HF Red wax will provide necessary range if snow temps do cool off over night.

Conclusionary Notes – BNS will have a table set up and will be testing top coats, hand structure, and kick wax at the race venue. Come by to get our latest test results and recommendations.

Note: BNS imports Holmenkol and SkiGo waxes, and also sells waxes from Swix, Toko, Rode, Solda, Rex, Guru, Innovax, Magnar and others. We search for the fastest waxes for our customers and our testing is professional, objective and transparent. We make our best effort to test what we think is the best from each brand.  However, given that we are testing more options from Holmenkol and SkiGo, there is a bias toward those brands.  With this full disclosure, you can assess the legitimacy of our testing yourself. Visit Swix and Toko for their official recommendations. If you have any questions please contact us.
