BNS Wax Recommendation

City of Lakes Loppet

This year’s City of Lakes Loppet has been shortened due to low snow coverage and warm temperatures.  The race will be run on a man-made snow 3.5k loop at Theodore Wirth Park.  The conditions now are wet, coarse snow with some dirt starting to show through on the course.  Temperatures are expected to be above freezing through the weekend so we are expecting warmer waxes to be running well.  We will be testing on course over the next few days, check back for our results and recommendations

Weather –

From NOAA.gov

Friday: Cloudy, with a high near 36. East northeast wind around 7 mph.

Friday Night:
Patchy fog. Otherwise, cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 25.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 40. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 25. North northwest wind between 3 and 5 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 40. Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph.

CONCLUSIONARY NOTES – BNS will have a table set up and will be testing top coats, kick, and hand structure at the venue.  Come by to get our latest test results and recommendations.

note: BNS imports Holmenkol and SkiGo waxes, and also sells waxes from Swix, Toko, Rode, Solda, Rex, Guru, Innovax, Magnar and others. We search for the fastest waxes for our customers and our testing is professional, objective and transparent. We make our best effort to test what we think is the best from each brand.  However, given that we are testing more options from Holmenkol and SkiGo, there is a bias toward those brands.  With this full disclosure, you can assess the legitimacy of our testing yourself. Visit Swix and Toko for their official recommendations. If you have any questions please contact us
