The Salomon S-Lab Skate Boot is the evolution of the highly
successful black S-Lab boot with extended carbon heel cup and RS-17.
This is the same platform as the S-Lab Pro, with a thermoplastic cuff
instead of carbon cuff and without the power strap.
UK sizing in 1/2-size increments. We recommend sizing the same as compared to the S-Lab of 2006-2009. For 2010-2011, we
have a limited selection of "racer fit" boots which are 2mm narrower
than the standard S-Lab Last. View our
sizing chart to see conversions between US, UK and Euro.
Key Developments:
-
RS17 - the pivot point is moved back 7mm, or 17mm behind the
original SNS Profil system, moving the skate push-off point closer to
the ball of foot for greater power transfer and control.
-
Carbon Fiber Cuff Available as an add-on, but not standard - the New skate pro cuff makes the boot
stiffer and lighter using carbon fiber to reinforce the Energyzer cuff.
-
Extended Carbon Chassis - the stiff carbon fiber heel cup of
the S-Lab has been extended forward to give more stability and rigidity
for the skate push.
- For people who don't want the bulk of the S-Lab Pro buckle, this is
a great option. The S-Lab feels a bit lower volume (narrower) than the
S-Lab Pro, even though they seem to use the same last. and are
constructed out of the same materials. Salomon thinks that the
construction of the Pro boot with the strap is making the Pro come out a
bit wider.
From Salomon:
Micro-adjustable fit combined with enveloping carbon cradle and
cuff delivers more precision, direct power transmission, quicker
reaction times and precise lateral support. World Cup proven skate boot
with RS17 Underfoot Technology.
