Start Green SG8 Glide Wax is the famous cold wax used by everyone for cold, dry snow. Iron temp 155C, be cautious applying as it takes a lot of heat to melt this and it is easy to burn the base. Combine with Toko Nordlite Cold Powder when dry and abrasive, generally below 5F.

Apply with iron at 155C, moving the iron quickly to avoid burning the base. Let this wax cool completely and if it was ironed in correctly, it will come off as a powder. If it chips off in chunks, it was not ironed in successfully. You will want a sharp scraper.
Once scraped, brush excessively with a metal brush such as the Swix Medium bronze or Fine Steel. Let the ski cool to outdoor temperature and brush again. Brush just before the start of a race as well. Polish with a hard nylon brush after the metal.
