Fischer RCS Skating has traditionally been our best-selling ski. This is a great all-around performer and the first pair of skis that should be in any quiver. The RCS uses the 610 mold to produce an incredible ski that is fast, stable and lightweight with a forward weight distribution that climbs well and performs in all kinds of conditions. Now that the Carbonlite is available with the same 610 mold, the Carbonlite may take this primary spot as the first pair to get, but the RCS offers great value and high performance.
Comes in Fischer Plus (28) base or Cold (A5) base. The Plus base performs well in all conditions, but should be stone-ground colder if planned use will be in cold. The A5 base is excellent in news snow cold temps, but not as great when the snow has excess moisture, so cold skis are only a good choice as a primary universal ski in cold regions such as the Rockies and Midwest.
172 to 192cm in 5cm increments. Medium and Stiff Flex. Plus (28) and Cold (A5) base.
This is the "flat" model which means that there is not an NIS plate mounted on the top. Any binding can be mounted on this ski: Salomon Pilot, Profil or NNN R3. The picture of this ski shows an NIS plate and binding, but this ski does not have either.
We hand-select every pair of RCS skis that we sell. This is a painstaking, expensive process, but it ensures that your skis will match what experience tells us makes an especially good ski. We have invested heavily in the development of custom ski testing equipment that allows us to evaluate skis on a number of key benchmarks. Combine that with hands that have squeezed thousands of pairs of skis over the years, bodies that have raced thousands of kilometers in every snow condition imaginable, and minds that have been consumed by skiing for 20 years, and you get world-class service.
Selecting top-quality skis is only the beginning, however. We can coach you through the process of selecting a ski and lend our expertise to help you choose a ski that will complement your existing fleet and give you maximum performance in the desired snow conditions. Once you have decided on a ski, if we don't have a perfect match in our inventory, we will special-order the ski and hand-select it to fit your specifications precisely.
This is the RCS that comes with the NIS binding installation plate. It is identical to the "flat" version, except that it has the NIS plate. Either Salomon or NNN bindings can be mounted on this, but if you are on Salomon bindings, choose the flat version. Note the image shows the ski with the binding, but this is for ski only.
